No-gi BJJ
Grappling without the traditional uniform: faster, closer to wrestling and submission grappling, and a great complement to gi training. Beginners welcome.
Why no-gi
Training in shorts and a rash guard is close to grappling in everyday clothes, so it is practical self-defence. It builds strength, cardio and body control.
Beginners, gi students adding another night, former wrestlers and people who want a hard workout after work. Adults and teens 13 and up train together.
Shorts without pockets and a rash guard or fitted shirt. If you train no-gi only, you don't need a gi.

Questions
No. Shorts without pockets and a rash guard or fitted shirt are all you need.
Yes. Adults and teens 13 and up are welcome, including complete beginners, and your first class is free. No wrestling or martial arts background is needed.
Yes. No-gi classes are included in adult BJJ membership, so you can train no-gi only, or add gi classes whenever you like.
Without collar and sleeve grips, no-gi is faster and closer to wrestling and submission grappling. Gi training is slower and more grip-based. Training both makes you a more complete grappler.
Start with one or two classes a week. Tuesday and Thursday nights plus the Sunday open mat give you up to three sessions.
Water, shorts without pockets, a rash guard or fitted shirt, and a mouthguard if you have one.
Either works. Gi teaches grips and patience, and no-gi teaches speed and scrambles. Many students do both, so try a class of each and see which you enjoy.
