Reviews
“I started training here 2 years ago as a 41-year-old dad of 3 with zero martial arts experience. I was a bit hesitant at first, but the coaches and the community here are awesome, very welcoming and completely ego-free. The vibe is so good that now my whole family trains here.”
“Starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as an adult is intimidating. But from the moment I stepped onto the mats here, that anxiety was completely dismantled by the culture of the gym. If you are on the fence about starting your Jiu-Jitsu journey, this is the place to be.”
“Initially, I was apprehensive in attending a class as I am new to the world of jiu-jitsu however, once I met Coach Jake, I felt right at home. It ended up being one of the best workouts I've had in a long time.”

For your first class, athletic clothes (no shorts). After your first class you'll need a gi, which you can buy at the academy. For no-gi classes, wear shorts without pockets and a rash guard or fitted shirt.
Usually around 10 years of consistent training, depending on how often you train. Shawn Cox was promoted in October 2026 after 10 years on the mats.
